1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using character-backstory-questionnaire.hub2.day (“the Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site. The Site is operated as BackstoryBuilder: RPG Character Depth Quiz, an independent web utility.
2. Informational and Convenience-Only Use
The Site provides a branching questionnaire that generates a narrative backstory for tabletop role-playing game characters. All content, prompts, and generated text are provided for informational, entertainment, and creative convenience only. They do not constitute professional advice of any kind—whether literary, psychological, legal, or otherwise. You should not rely on the Site for any critical or professional purpose.
3. No Professional Advice
Nothing on this Site creates a professional-client relationship. The backstory outputs are creative starting points, not authoritative guidance. Always use your own judgment when incorporating generated material into your games, writing, or shared stories.
4. Verification of Outputs
The backstory content produced by the questionnaire is algorithmically assembled based on your inputs. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying that any generated text fits your intended character concept, game setting, and tone. We make no warranty that outputs will be original, free of unintended similarities to existing works, or suitable for any particular campaign.
5. Lawful Use and Prohibited Misuse
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You may not:
- Use the Site to generate, upload, or transmit content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the Site’s functionality or security.
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access or extract data from the Site without prior written permission.
- Misrepresent your affiliation with the Site or its operator.
We reserve the right to block access to anyone violating these provisions.
6. Advertising and Third-Party Content
The Site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense and may include links to third-party websites. We do not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for any third-party content, products, or services. Interactions with advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser. 7. Intellectual Property
Site Content. The design, text, graphics, and code of the Site itself (excluding user inputs and generated outputs) are the property of the Site operator and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Site’s core interface or branding without permission.
Your Inputs and Outputs. You retain ownership of the original character ideas and answers you provide. The backstory text generated by the questionnaire is produced for your personal, non-commercial use in your tabletop games and writing. You may freely use, modify, and share the generated backstories in your own creative projects. We do not claim ownership over your inputs or the resulting backstory text.
8. Availability and Changes
We strive to keep the Site accessible, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Site at any time without prior notice. These Terms may also be updated periodically; the “Last updated” date will indicate the current version. Your continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
9. Disclaimers
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT, FEATURES, AND OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, BE ACCURATE, RELIABLE, OR SECURE.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SITE OPERATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SITE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM USE OF THE SITE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO US, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
11. Indemnity

12. Disputes and Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to the jurisdiction where the Site operator is based, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for intellectual property violations. You waive any right to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration.
